The Trail Collective is a social media movement designed to capture the heart of hiker culture by sharing stories of hiker's experiences from trails across the globe. After spending 4 months living in the woods and experiencing hiker culture first hand, I immediately fell in love. Once I returned home I found I was missing the culture more than anything else and finding a way to articulate that experience to my peers was difficult, yet I still felt the need to share it with the world. So TheTrail_Collective was born. In just a few short weeks i've found huge success, in the quality submission i've recieved, the overwhelming support, and the big name followers I've gotten like ENO Hammocks, Gregory Backpacks, and Outdoor Research. So far I have feature stories from all major distance trails in the US, some in the Grand Canyon, and some abroad in Costa Rica, Canada, UAE, and New Zealand. I am so very passionate about this project because I get to show the world that hikers are more than just a bunch of dirty hippies and the trials are more than dirt paths, they are our way to heal, to feel, and to find something new inside ourselves.
